Raised in the mountainous region of Nghe An, Dien Luc was immersed in a culture where timber was an integral part of life, not just a raw material. In the studio, he built a reputation for embracing heavily knotted, wildly grained, and unpredictable wood slabs—the very pieces his peers would typically avoid. In fact, he actively seeks out these challenging boards. He holds a deep conviction that every fissure, mark, and supposed imperfection holds a unique narrative that should be celebrated rather than erased by excessive sanding. Under his skilled hands, even the most rugged timber is transformed to radiate authenticity rather than appearing damaged.
